Silica gel Breather work Process
Silica gel Breather is in Dark Blue color which is in Crystal or Beads form used in the transparent type Polycarbonate/Acrylic Breathers so as to indicate absorption of moisture through change in the Color from Blue to Pink in (Crystals) and from Blue to White in (Beads) . This grade of Silica Gel is called as “indicating grade” of Silica Gel.

Usually indicating grade of Silica Gel, which is filled in the breather, is Dark blue crystals, which has cobalt content in it which absorbs moisture intimating the saturation degree by changing color from Dark Blue to Pink.

Below are the Indication stages of silica gel as per absorption

First Stage: - Dark Blue color Initially.
Second Stage: -  Light Pink after absorption up to 20% of its weight
Last Stage: - completely saturated with moisture. (Absorbed water for about 35 - 40% of its weight).

In the above process Silica gel Crystals 6-8MM and 4-6MM size are used, sometimes instead of Silica gel Dark Blue crystals silica gel Blue Beads are also used size of 1-2mm of 2-4mm sized beads. However cobalt is used for the Indication of silica gel Blue, we also offer Silica gel Orange which has no cobalt content inside and can be used as indication from Orange to Light Green on absorption.

Periodic dehumidification of Silica Gel crystals & removal of dust particles from breathed air is necessary. The silica gel can be regenerated through heating it up at 150ํC for about 2 Hours or until the color becomes Blue again.

Applications of silica gel pouches with various departments

Keep Underwater Cameras Dry – Waterproof cameras are super fun but sometimes the condensation can end up damaging the camera or leave a fog streak across your lens. Stop this from happening by storing a packet or two of silica-gel packets in the camera case or with the camera. It will dry all of the excess water out.

Dry Out A Wet Cell Phone – This one is much needed knowledge. How many times have we accidentally dropped our phone in some water like a pool, toilet or the kids or yourself spilled a drink on your phone? It always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Here is how you can fix it fast. Remove the battery and any memory cards from the phone, then toss it in a bowl filled with silica gel packets (dry rice will work, too, in an emergency). Leave it there at least overnight before powering it on again.

Stop Camera Condensation – As a blogger, I take my camera everywhere. It is a must for most of us ladies nowadays. Here is a great photography trick to stop lens or camera condensations. If you’re taking your camera out into the cold, it can face serious condensation when you bring it back into a warm room. Remove the battery, memory card, and lens if applicable, and place the camera in a bowl of silica gel to suck up the moisture.

Extend the Life Of Razor Blades – Oxidation and moisture is the reason that razor blades fall to pre-mature dulling. A good tip is to keep a Tupperware half full of silica gel near by and after shaving, blot dry your razor and store the razor in the closed Tupperware that has 4 -5 silica gel packets.

Dry Makeup or Travel Bag – If you toss a few packets of silica gels into a Ziplock bag, it has enough water and moisture fighting ability to withstand any spills.

Keep Fabric Dry – If you like to sew, or use fabric for craft projects, keep a few of the silica packets with the fabric in a plastic or Ziplock bag to keep the moisture out.

Wet Vacations Clothes – Sometimes when we go on vacation, there is swimming involved. Most of the time we are enjoying the water up until the vacation is over. The worst is putting wet clothes in your suitcase. Put your clothes or wet towel into a bag with a bunch of silica gels and it will help to remove some of the moisture. The more gel packets the better.

Protect Your Photos – Put silica gel packet in the boxes where you store your photos to keep them safe and dry.

Protect Silver – Moisture can lead to tarnish and corrosion on silver and jewelry. Slip a silica gel packet in your silver chest or jewelry box to keep those items tarnish free and looking great!

Keep Luggage Dry – These tiny packets can do a great job of keeping luggage dry. You can simply toss a few silica gel packets into your luggage to keep it moisture and odor-free. This could really help to extend the life of your luggage.

Gardening – If you save your own seeds for planting next year, storing them so they don’t mold is important. Add a silica gel packet to your container, making sure it’s airtight. Store the different seeds in small envelopes and then put them all in an airtight container together with the silica gel packet. You only need one per shoe box-sized container.

Pills and Vitamins – You will often find Silica Gel packets enclosed with packets of dried foods, pills, and vitamins. This is because moisture can lead to mold, decomposition, and spoilage of these items. Storing these items with a packet of Silica Gel can help preserve their freshness. Vitamins and pills are often stored in bathrooms, a very humid environment. Moisture can get into the container each time it is opened, which can lead to any coatings being prematurely dissolved.

Protect Documents – Protect personal papers and important documents by putting some gel in a baggie wherever these are stored.

Flowers – If you love to dry flowers, these can be used in a cinch to help the process go faster. Store in a paper bag with the a couple packets.

Windows – If you notice that the windows in your house seem to have formed some condensation in between panes, store some packets on the sill to absorb that moisture. (Careful of your children with this one.)

Bulk Pet Food – Have you noticed that if you buy a big bag of pet food, it can get soggy? Store your kibble in a bin and tape some silica packs to the bottom of the lid.

Foggy Windshield – Stash some packets away in your car, especially on your dashboard. This will help maintain a clear windshield and leave it less foggy during times of high humidity.

Uses of Silica Gel Pouches : Best reasons to know about silica gel pouches!!!!

1.  To save your cell phone from water damage.  I recently dropped my iPhone in a pot of boiling potatoes while trying to multitask.  (OK, I was on Pinterest while making dinner, I’ll admit it.)  I dropped my phone in the boiling water, quickly pulled it out with a spoon, dried it off, removed the SIM card, and put it in a Ziploc bag filled with silica gel packets that we had stockpiled.  I left it alone for a few days, and was shocked to find that it worked perfectly!  Supposedly this works better than the rice trick for saving your cell phone.  Just try to restrain yourself and not turn it on until a few days later because it could cause an electrical short and ruin your phone.

2. To help keep photos safe and free from moisture.  I love to scrapbook.  I recently pulled out one of my scrapbooks from a few years back , when I noticed that some of my scrapbook pages were wet!  I have spent countless hours on my scrapbook pages.  You can imagine how upset I was to find that one of my kids had spilled water, and it had dripped down into the sheet protectors and onto my pages.  My hubby air dried all of the pages, and was able to salvage most of the pages and embellishments from the affected scrapbook pages.

Now each of those pages have a silica gel packet in between the two pieces of card stock in each sheet protector, just to absorb any excess moisture that might still be hiding in the paper. We will eventually remove them, because I am unsure of the archival quality of silica, but for now I am okay with them being there short term.

3.  To keep collectables in pristine condition.  My husband has quite the baseball card collection, and uses silica gel packets to keep his collection safe and in great condition.
4.  To keep important documents safe.  Whether you have important documents (birth certificates, social security cards, etc.) stored in files in a desk, cabinet, box, or envelopes, you can add a few packets of silica gel to keep them protected.
5.   To use in each container in your basement, garage, or storage unit to absorb excess moisture.  We use them everywhere in our basement!
6.   To help preserve your ornaments and Christmas decorations.  These get pulled out of boxes only once a year, so using silica gel packets in your Christmas boxes is a smart idea.

Silica gel pouches trends

We find them everywhere, popping out of all sorts of packaging, lurking like an ugly bug in vitamin bottles and new shoes. Working freight at my store, I touch dozens of silica packets each day and have often wondered what I can do to recycle them. Couldn't we collect them and send them off to a manufacturer for reuse?

Silica gel is a desiccant, a substance that absorbs moisture. Despite its misleading name, the silicate is actually a very porous mineral with a natural attraction to water molecules. Manufacturers utilize the gel to keep goods from spoiling, molding or degrading due to humidity. The gel itself is nontoxic, but can have a moisture indicator added (cobalt chloride) which is a known toxin that turns pink when hydrated and is otherwise blue in its dry form. Most silica found in our food and household purchases looks like tapioca beads and is benign unless combined with certain chemicals.

Although silica gel has massive potential for reuse, I haven't had any luck finding a recycler. But I did discover several great suggestions for using these packs around the house and keeping them from the landfill just a wee bit longer.

Put packs in your ammo cans and gun cases/safes to keep dry.
Protect personal papers and important documents by putting some gel in a baggie wherever these are stored.
Keep with photos to spare them from humidity. Tuck a small envelope in the back of frames to protect even the ones hanging on your walls.
Store in camera bags and with film. After snapping photos in cold or wet conditions, silica gel will absorb moisture to keep your lens from fogging or streaking.
Leave a couple packs in your tool box to prevent rusting.
Use the material to dry flowers.
Place with seeds in storage to thwart molding.
Stash some in window sills to banish condensation.
Dry out electronic items such as cellphones and iPods. Remember after the device has gotten wet, do not turn it back on! Pull out the battery and memory card and put the device in a container filled with several packs. Leave it in there at least overnight.
Slow silver tarnishing by using the gel in jewelry boxes and with your silverware.
For items in storage, such as cars or anything prone to mildew. Popular Mechanics offers a good suggestion for use in engines of sitting vehicles.
Tired of buying big bags of pet food only to have it get soggy? Store your kibble in a bin and tape some silica packs to the bottom of the lid.
Cut open the packs and saturate the beads with essential oils to create potpourri.
Use in luggage while traveling.
Tuck some in your pockets. Hide them in your closet in leather goods such as coats and shoes, and even handbags, to help them survive life in storage.
Gather your razor blades and keep in a container with several silica packs to stave off oxidation.
Video tape collections will last much longer with these to help keep them dry.
Cat litter is now made with silica. With its fantastic absorption qualities, this litter requires fewer changes and sends less mess to the landfill.
And my personal favorite:

Squirrel some away in your car, especially on your dashboard. This will help maintain a clear windshield and leave it less foggy during times of high humidity.
While these packets are annoying and seem like a waste of resources, they can extend the life of many items. Another reason someone needs to be collecting them to recycle: they can be reactivated repeatedly. To recharge, you just need to bake the saturated beads on a cookie sheet, as detailed on

What is silica gel and why do I find little packets of it in everything I buy?

Little packets of silica gel are found in all sorts of products because silica gel pouches  is a desiccant -- it adsorbs and holds water vapor. In leather products and foods like pepperoni, the lack of moisture can limit the growth of mold and reduce spoilage. In electronics it prevents condensation, which might damage the electronics. If a bottle of vitamins contained any moisture vapor and were cooled rapidly, the condensing moisture would ruin the pills. You will find little silica gel packets in anything that would be affected by excess moisture or condensation.

Silica gel pouches  is nearly harmless, which is why you find it in food products. Silica, or silicon dioxide (SiO2), is the same material found in quartz. The gel form contains millions of tiny pores that can adsorb and hold moisture. Silica gel is essentially porous sand.
Silica gel can adsorb about 40 percent of its weight in moisture and can take the relative humidity in a closed container down to about 40 percent. Once saturated, you can drive the moisture off and reuse silica gel pouches by heating it above 300 degrees F (150 C).

How to get the container desiccants and its useful applications???

container desiccants in mumbai leave behind less residual moisture than most other types of desiccant bags. Desiccant bags also performs well at elevated temperatures and will not release absorbed moisture at less than 350° F. This is an important consideration when shipping products during variable weather conditions.

oxygen absorbers in mumbai,Desiccant bags will reduce the humidity in a sealed enclosure to a -100° F dew point in about 10 hours or less. Materials packaged with these desiccant bags are protected from corrosion and other harmful effects of moisture contamination.

Silica gel packets have become an essential part of modern packing, because even when the goods are carefully packed it can be damaged by moisture. So Silica gel packets are used by industries like Leather & Garments, Pharmaceuticals, Electronics, Hardwares, Textile, Computer accesories, Home Appliances etc while packing their goods. Silica gel packets can prevent the goods from Fungus, Foul Smell, Electronic Circuit Fault, Rust, Decolorisation etc...

Silica Gel Packets are available in Non Woven Cloth and Tyvek Paper. We supply Silica gel sachets of White Silica Gel (Non Indicating Silica Crystals), Blue Silica Gel (Indicating Silica Crystals) and Silica Gel Beads.

How to analyse the Silica gel products?

Silica Gel products has a very strong affinity for water and will adsorb it in preference to most other substances. It is also a good adsorbent for HC1, gasoline-range hydrocarbons, CO2, C12, sulphur and nitrogen compounds, aromatics, and many others. silica gel pouches in mumbai is in wide use in many industries for a myriad number of applications where a high capacity desiccant or selective adsorbent is required.
